In his presentation at Oil & Gas iQ’s 9th Advanced Contract Risk Management for Oil & Gas Summit, Doug Repasi, Contracts Counsel for Baker Hughes, gives us a uniquely American insight into doing business with US oil and gas firms.

Doug Repasi is Contracts Region Counsel for Baker Hughes Incorporated and primarily supports the US Land Region.  At Baker Hughes, he regularly drafts and negotiates complex oilfield services contracts with customers and has traveled throughout the US to teach contracts seminars to Baker Hughes personnel.

Doug graduated magna cum laude from Utah State University, and earned his juris doctorate from the University of Houston.

In the course of his presentation, Doug touches on:

  • Anti-indemnity statutes directed to oilfield work

  • Applicability of construction anti-indemnity statutes to well work

  • Working on projects financed by the federal government

  • Explore choice of law options

  • Dispute resolution provisions
