FLNG – Beyond The Hype

In this presentation at the Global Floating LNG Summit 2011, Brian Songhurst, Director of LNG Energy and Power aims to extract the wheat from the chaff in the discussion about the benefits and advantages of FLNG.

Floating liquefied natural gas allows for the exploitation of offshore gas reserves, access to stranded fields and provides an alternative to costly infrastructure investments. In essence, FLNG represents a significant and yet untapped revenue stream. Ensuring that oil and gas organisations are benefiting from the opportunities that FLNG can provide for the sector has never been more important..

Brian Songhurst is currently Director of LNG within Energy and Power, based in London and manages a variety of LNG projects for both onshore and offshore applications. The offshore applications include floating LNG liquefaction units (LNG FPSO) and floating storage and regasification units (FSRU). He was previously Engineering Manager with MW Kellogg one of the world’s leading contractors within the LNG industry and Facilities Engineering Manager with J Ray McDermott one of the world’s leading offshore contractors.
