John R. Beaty II
John Beaty is a results-oriented senior executive with over 22 years of process technology consulting experience in the petroleum industry and 30 years of team development and organizational leadership. John developed considerable experience in the Upstream, Downstream, and Midstream segments as a deep skilled SAP consultant with specific expertise in globalization, taxation, business process functionality, development, implementation, operations, and strategic planning.
He began his professional career with an 8 year enlistment in the United States Marine Corps. During his military career, he served as a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Warfare Specialist. His duties included the development and training of units for Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical defense. Among his military accomplishments, he has also served as a Drill instructor and is a veteran of Desert Storm.
After completing his enlistment, Mr. Beaty went on to Graduate from Texas A&M University with a BS Management degree. Upon graduation, he accepted a position with Andersen Consulting, now known as Accenture, where he worked for 11 years within the Global Energy Practice deploying global solutions and implementing SAP for international businesses consulting across most of the worlds largest Oil and Gas companies. During this time, he also served as the Accenture Scholarship Lead for Texas A&M.
After leaving Accenture, Mr. Beaty began working with FuelQuest as the Vice President of Global Tax solutions. He was responsible for the management of a dedicated line of business known as ZyTax, which was a wholly owned subsidiary of FuelQuest inc. ZyTax provided tax automation solutions to over 850 clients around the globe, with offices in Houston, Green Bay, and London.
Mr. Beaty then went on to become the President of the Americas and subsequently the CEO for Amphora Inc. Amphora is a commodity trading software provider serving global commodity trading companies that trade predominately in crude and refined products. With offices in Singapore, India, Switzerland, London, and Houston.
After leaving Amphora, Mr. Beaty focused on consulting for a few years before returning to tax automation software with Avalara. He currently serves as the General Manager for Excise at Avalara. Avalara is a tax technology solution provider focusing on indirect tax determination and compliance with global capability. Avalara helps companies of all sizes achieve transactional tax accuracy for their indirect tax requirements.
His work experience has covered a wide range of international business consulting including adaptation of global ERP solutions based upon regional and local requirements. Some of the areas in which he has worked are; Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Azerbaijan, Belgium, France, Italy, Holland, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, and various countries within the Middle East.
