Electricity Human Resources Canada is a national, not-for-profit organization that conducts research focused on the human resource challenges and opportunities impacting the electricity and renewable energy sector and develops tools to support industry in addressing these challenges and opportunities. It is a hub for research into human resources trends and sector specific solutions to Canada's skilled-labour shortage. Founded in 2005 as a not-for-profit partnership between business, labour, education and government, its mission is to strengthen the ability of the Canadian electricity industry to meet current and future needs for a highly skilled, safety focused, diverse and productive workforce. The sector employs over 108,000 people across Canada who are responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. This work represents a critical component of the Canadian economy, infrastructure and the standard of living for all Canadians.
