Dr. Mushtaque Ahmed obtained his PhD from Iowa State University, USA in 1988. He is currently an Associate Professor of the Department of Soils, Water and Agricultural Engineering of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman. Before joining SQU in 1996, he worked for various organisations in Australia including CSIRO. His current research interests are biosaline agriculture, managed aquifer recharge, climate change and adaptability, wastewater treatment and reuse. He has published more than 215 scientific papers in peer reviewed refereed journals, book chapters, conference proceedings, and manuals, as well as serving as Editor of various publications. He is a corporate member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia and member of International Desalination Association (IDA).
