Pranay Shankar is the Subsurface Delivery Leader-Tight Oil at Cairn Oil & Gas, Vedanta Limited with responsibility for field development planning, reservoir management and production optimization of tight oil fields and satellite fields of Barmer Basin, Rajasthan, India since 2005. He has worked in various reservoir engineering roles since 2005 within Cairn Oil & Gas and successfully delivered projects like development of heavy viscous oil field like Mangala, Tight Gas Condensate field called Raageshwari Deep Gas and satellite fields. Prior to joining Cairn Oil & Gas, Pranay worked in subsurface team as Reservoir Engineer at ONGC Ltd. Notable is his 3 years as Reservoir Engineer for ONGC Ltd where he was working on subsurface data acquisition and production optimization activities in Gandhar and Ankleshwar fields in Gujarat. Pranay received M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh in 2011 and B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad in 2002. His professional interests focus on Reservoir Simulation, Field development planning, identifying Production Optimization Opportunities and Implementing Reservoir Management practices and his current projects include development planning for tight oil fields of Rajasthan Asset.
