Human spaceflight is inherently risky, and certainly not “safe”. The better standard that is used by NASA and other high risk organizations is to ask the question, “Is it Safe Enough”. There will always be risk in such endeavors. The challenge is to identify and manage that risk so that the remaining, or residual risk is acceptable. This presentation will discuss the management of risk in several non-aerospace fields and compare the various methodologies to that used in Human Spaceflight
