Joy Romero

President Clean Resource Innovation Network

Joy Romero is a metallurgical engineer with an MBA in project management and a specialization in energy and the environment. She is currently the Executive Advisor, Innovation at Canadian Natural Resources Limited. For over 30 years, Joy has been collaboratively advancing innovative solutions within the energy sector believing that we can achieve greater things when we work together. She works hard with many other people who believe the same thing at Canadian Natural and in collaborative organizations like Pathways, the Clean Resource Innovation Network and the Petroleum Technology Alliance of Canada.

Joy advises at the University of Calgary, the University of Alberta, and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and serves on the Boards of Calgary’s Heritage Park.

Joy was inducted into the Canadian Petroleum Hall of Fame in 2018, in 2021 she was recognized by Foresight Canada as one the top 20 women leading clean tech in Canada, has received the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for her dedication to advanced education and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.
