Eric Kamphues

Eric Kamphues is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of IX Renewables. Active in the wind energy sector since 2002, he has built IX into an international consultancy supporting renewable energy projects across Europe and Asia.

For nearly two decades, Eric has advised developers, investors and lenders on the commercial, strategic, technical and operational aspects of renewable energy projects. He has also served as Project Director for major offshore wind developments, leading multidisciplinary teams in the development and execution of complex projects. Since 2007, he and the IX team have worked extensively with renewable energy companies in Japan and Taiwan, supporting clients throughout the growth of the region's offshore wind sector.

Alongside its advisory activities, IX selectively invests in and develops renewable energy projects, giving Eric firsthand experience of the commercial and investment realities, risks and decision-making faced by project sponsors. IX's expertise spans technical due diligence, project development, owner's engineering, procurement, commercial advisory and operational optimization, with particular expertise in offshore wind, including floating offshore wind. Eric currently serves as Chairman of two floating offshore wind development ventures in Taiwan, where IX participates as both strategic advisor and equity partner.

Combining advisory, project leadership and investment experience, Eric brings a practical perspective on the challenges of developing, financing and delivering offshore wind projects, bridging the interests of developers, investors and lenders.
