Safety and training are critical elements of the process of bunkering and safety of our seafarers is always of utmost importance to any operation. In this workshop, we explore measures which can be taken to ensure safe handling of LNG and other alternative marine fuels and protocols which can be put in place to ensure seafarer safety is ensured throughout all elements of the bunkering process. The session will cover:

• Training of crews on dual fuel vessels and required activity to upskill
• Legislative requirements/ certification challenges against wider crewing issues
• Increasing pool of trained crew for LNG bunkering and ability to cross pollinate (across vessel types)
• Leisure crew training and experience
• Operational considerations for
• operators such as location of bun- kering and the effects on passage planning.
