Nick Purday has had a diverse career in the oil industry, spanning three distinct phases. Initially, Nick worked as a geophysicist for Sun Oil, focusing on both production and global new ventures. In the second phase of his career, Nick joined Halliburton Landmark, where he developed subsurface solutions and eventually led the subsurface technology. For the past 11 years, Nick has been with ConocoPhillips, concentrating on Emerging Digital Technologies. Throughout his career, Nick has excelled at understanding complex business challenges and creating innovative digital solutions to enhance business performance. He holds a Master's degree in Petroleum Geoscience from the Royal School of Mines at Imperial College.
Over the past three years, ConocoPhillips has implemented Digital Twins throughout its global portfolio. For conventional assets, Digital Twins serve as a core system to support efficient operations. Currently, more than half of production is derived from L48 unconventional assets, which often lack essential data types needed for Digital Twin implementation. This presentation will discuss how ConocoPhillips plans to deliver Reality Based Digital Twins for both mature and unconventional assets.
