Facilitating Robust FSRU Growth

11:10 am - 11:40 am Leveraging on Cost Effective Mooring and Gas Transfer Systems for Shallow Water FSRUs

APL Norway AS, a part of National Oilwell Varco, has been delivering mooring and loading systems for small and large floating vessels worldwide for more than 25 years. The solutions range from large turret designs for complex FPSOs to small, integrated mooring and loading stations for smaller shuttle tankers. The technology was initially developed for harsh environments, as the North Sea, but has proven to be well suited for projects all over the world. From the more traditional oil and gas industry, the technology has been further developed to be integrated with LNG carriers as regasification vessels, either as dis-connectable shuttle tankers or as permanently moored FSRUs. The STL (Submerged Turret Loading) system has been used for a number of these projects. Where frequent connection and disconnection is important the STL solution has proven very reliable and robust. In very shallow waters, with water depths in the range of 15m to 45m the SSY (Submerged Swivel and Yoke) system is successful used for both FSRU and FLNG vessels. The SAL (Single Anchor Loading) system can be used as offloading terminal where a compact and simple solution is needed for supplying gas. A specially designed high-pressure gas swivel has been developed and qualified for subsea application. APL-NOV is well positioned to offer projects which includes:
  • Customization as per site requirement
  • Certification of equipment as per project/class requirements
  • Complete life-cycle support
  • Worldwide aftersales support

11:40 am - 12:20 pm Industry Power Panel | Evaluating the Feasibility of Anchoring FSRU Demand through Gas-to-Power Projects

Parth Jindal - Managing Director, Höegh LNG Asia Pte.Ltd
Shinsuke Umada - General Manager, FSRU & LNG Solutions, MOL (Asia Oceania)
  • Navigating demand uncertainty through the integration of FSRUs with gas-to-power projects
