Head of Decommissioning North Sea Transition Authority

Head of Decommissioning for the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA). The NSTA regulates and influences the oil and gas, offshore hydrogen and carbon storage industries for the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS), with a focus on maximizing economic recovery, reducing emissions and accelerating the energy transition. Prior to taking on this role in April 2023, Alastair spent 17 years in industry, working for Chevron and then Ithaca Energy. During that time, he held several different roles supporting offshore operations and project activities, ranging from Subsea Engineer, Turnaround Manager, Brownfield Modifications Lead and then was the Asset Integrity Team Lead for several years before joining the NSTA.
