His team works collaboratively with other NOPSEMA divisions to regulate Australia's evolving offshore energy industry, ensuring safe, responsible, and environmentally sustainable operations. Passionate about effective regulation and drawing on extensive hands-on experience in the offshore oil and gas sector, Claudio is driven by a strong commitment to protecting both the workforce and the environment. This commitment extends beyond operational activities to encompass long-term stewardship and responsible decommissioning outcomes. These principles underpin his engagement with industry stakeholders and guide his leadership approach. With over 20 years of experience in the international offshore oil and gas industry, Claudio has built a diverse career spanning well intervention, subsea engineering, project execution, and regulatory leadership. After completing his studies in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, he worked on a wide range of offshore projects across the Asia-Pacific region, gaining extensive technical and operational expertise.

The first decade of Claudio's career was focused on subsea engineering and rigless well intervention. He subsequently transitioned into leadership roles, managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex offshore projects before joining NOPSEMA. Today, he combines his technical background, operational experience, and regulatory expertise to support the safe and sustainable development of Australia's offshore energy sector.
