Eliecer “Eli” Viamontes is the president and CEO of Entergy Texas, overseeing the delivery of electricity to over 524,000 customers across 27 counties. With more than two decades of experience in the electric utility industry, he has held leadership roles at Entergy Corporation and Florida Power & Light Company. Viamontes holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Florida International University and actively contributes to community organizations, including serving on the boards of the Texas Association of Business and the United Way of Greater Houston. He is also a member of the Texas Private Sector Advisory Council, a position appointed by Texas Governor Abbott.
Entergy’s STEP Ahead plan aims to increase their generation capacity by 40% by 2028, supporting the growing electricity demands and decarbonization goals of the oil and gas sector.
