Manager, Workforce and Community Health Chevron

Dr. Janis Davis-Street manages the Workforce & Community Health group of Chevron’s Health & Medical department. The group uses public health practices and health and well-being SME to enable a healthier and safer workforce and facilitate business leader recognition of the business value of health. The team provides health promotion, preventive programs and leader health advocacy training, and uses epidemiological tools to evaluate employee and community health issues. Prior to this role Janis managed Chevron’s Global Public Health and Wellness & Health Promotion portfolios for a total of 15 years. Janis is a seasoned project manager and has provided oversight of the physical and psychological well-being focus area of Human and Organizational Performance and Chevron’s approach to developing a culture of health and well-being.

An advocate of human-centered approaches, Janis’ qualifications include a doctorate in health education and Master's degrees in nutrition and organizational leadership. She is a certified Chevron coach and is credentialed as a certified health education specialist. Janis holds a certificate in public health informatics and has a long history of education outreach and mentoring.

Prior to Chevron, Janis spent 15+ years as a nutritionist at NASA during which time she was awarded a Silver Snoopy - the NASA US astronaut corps highest civilian award - for her contributions to the US space program and devotion to crew health and safety. She has co-authored “Space Nutrition” – a middle school textbook, and several publications on corporate wellness and nutrition and spaceflight. Janis is an invited presenter on a variety of well-being and global health topics and is the recipient of the Institute for Health & Productivity Management’s 2023 award for Leadership in Health & Productivity Management and the 2023 Healthiest Employers® Wellness Champion award.
