Jennifer W. Rogers is Senior Director of Education at AMPP and an Executive Officer in the IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee, where she leads global efforts to connect learning, skills, and workforce data across complex industrial ecosystems. With more than two decades of experience at organizations such as Baker Hughes and Anglo American, she has designed AI-enabled learning architectures, VR/AR training solutions, and competency frameworks that directly support safer, higher-performing operations in energy and other heavy industries.
Her work on AI-driven adaptive learning systems is closely aligned with emerging IEEE standards, using AI to personalize learning pathways, dynamically adjust to competency levels, and generate trustworthy skill and credential records that can flow securely across enterprise platforms. Recently, Jennifer’s expertise in AI, data standards, and workforce modeling was recognized through AMPP’s selection for a U.S. National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP) award, where she is helping lead an AI-enabled workforce modeling initiative to advance skills, safety, and operational readiness in maritime and shipbuilding environments.
As AI capabilities accelerate, energy leaders face a critical question: not just what can AI do, but what should it do? This workshop challenges attendees to rethink how they evaluate AI investments, balancing innovation with practicality, and automation with human judgment.
The race for AI adoption is well and truly on, but will slow and steady win the race? The collective consensus is whilst speed to innovation is key to unlocking safer and more productive operations, building trust and transparency with the workforce is the engine for AI-driven change. In this session, Jennifer will explore how to bridge the AI skills gap, build competency frameworks fit for the ever-evolving landscape and craft a compelling narrative that empowers, not alienates, your people.
