Jennifer Rogers

Senior Director of Education and Executive Officer, Learning Technology Standard AMPP (Association for Materials Protection and Performance) and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)

Jennifer W. Rogers is Senior Director of Education at AMPP and an Executive Officer in the IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee, where she leads global efforts to connect learning, skills, and workforce data across complex industrial ecosystems. With more than two decades of experience at organizations such as Baker Hughes and Anglo American, she has designed AI-enabled learning architectures, VR/AR training solutions, and competency frameworks that directly support safer, higher-performing operations in energy and other heavy industries.

Her work on AI-driven adaptive learning systems is closely aligned with emerging IEEE standards, using AI to personalize learning pathways, dynamically adjust to competency levels, and generate trustworthy skill and credential records that can flow securely across enterprise platforms. Recently, Jennifer’s expertise in AI, data standards, and workforce modeling was recognized through AMPP’s selection for a U.S. National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP) award, where she is helping lead an AI-enabled workforce modeling initiative to advance skills, safety, and operational readiness in maritime and shipbuilding environments.

Pre-Conference Workshop & Masterclass - February 23, 2026

8:00 AM Just Because AI Can Should It? Making Smarter Choices in AI Deployment

As AI capabilities accelerate, energy leaders face a critical question: not just what can AI do, but what should it do? This workshop challenges attendees to rethink how they evaluate AI investments, balancing innovation with practicality, and automation with human judgment.

Participants will explore real-world examples where AI was deployed alongside, or in place of, simpler automation tools. Through comparative case studies, they’ll learn how to assess whether AI is truly the right tool for the job, or whether a traditional script or workflow might deliver the same outcome with less complexity, cost, or computing power. This session will help attendees avoid “AI for AI’s sake” and focus on value-first decision-making.

The workshop will also address the risks of over-automation in a climate of workforce reductions. As companies look to AI to fill human gaps, participants will reflect on where human oversight remains essential, and how to design systems that preserve accountability, safety, and trust.

Join us and leave with a framework for identifying when AI should augment human roles and when it shouldn’t replace them.

Main Conference Day 2 - February 25, 2026

11:00 AM Building Trust at the Speed of AI: Skills, Standards & Storytelling

The race for AI adoption is well and truly on, but will slow and steady win the race? The collective consensus is whilst speed to innovation is key to unlocking safer and more productive operations, building trust and transparency with the workforce is the engine for AI-driven change. In this session, Jennifer will explore how to bridge the AI skills gap, build competency frameworks fit for the ever-evolving landscape and craft a compelling narrative that empowers, not alienates, your people.

  • With the fast-paced nature of AI innovation, explore how skill acceleration enables the workforce to interact with evolving AI technologies safely, confidently, and responsibly ensuring adoption is both rapid and secure
  • Learn how the IEEE’s competency framework is rethinking digital skill models to promote agility, and how their Open-Source Initiative has helped build trust and transparency by harnessing collective knowledge across the workforce
  • Gain key learnings from global lessons in AI readiness, drawing on scalable and inclusive skills strategies from initiatives such as the EU’s Horizon projects and World Bank programs
  • Explore how reframing the AI narrative around augmentation, not replacement, can shift perceptions from fear to opportunity by highlighting how AI enhances human roles, improves operational safety, increases efficiency, and empowers previously excluded segments of the workforce
