Somya Kapoor

Chief Executive Officer IFS Loops

Somya Kapoor is CEO of IFS Loops, formed when TheLoops joined IFS in 2025. She leads the development and deployment of Digital Workers: AI agents that execute complete workflows in industrial operations including energy, manufacturing, utilities, and construction, with full governance and auditability built in. Somya has been building AI solutions since 2016, with previous leadership roles at SAP and ServiceNow, giving her a grounded view of what actually works in enterprise environments versus what looks good in a demo. She co-founded TheLoops to close the gap between AI hype and production-scale deployment. Her approach favors narrow use cases over moonshots and hours saved over strategic value, a discipline that has helped IFS Loops customers, including Kodiak Gas Services, deploy Digital Workers in weeks and reach measurable ROI in 30 to 60 days. She is a recurring author and conference speaker, and an advocate for women in enterprise AI leadership.

Conference Day 1 - Wednesday September 23

10:45 AM Lessons Learned: Deploying AI Agents in Energy and Industrial Operations

Most agentic AI projects never reach production, and the reasons have little to do with the AI itself. Drawing on real deployments across energy, manufacturing, and field service, Somya Kapoor, CEO of IFS Loops, will share what separates the pilots that die from the agents that run. Attendees will learn:

    • Why 95% of AI agent pilots fail to produce measurable financial impact, and why the cause is almost always workflow integration, governance, or misaligned metrics, not model quality.
    • How to scope a first deployment to one workflow with a measurable outcome, rather than stalling out across ten simultaneous pilots.
    • Why governance, not clean data, is what actually determines whether an autonomous agent survives contact with a live purchase order, maintenance schedule, or replenishment decision, where a 2% error rate is not acceptable.
    • A field-tested model for expanding agent autonomy safely, keeping humans in the loop at defined checkpoints as trust is earned over weeks and months, not overnight.
    • Proof from the field: how Kodiak Gas Services deployed a Digital Worker to run replenishment decisions across a distributed oil and gas field service operation, delivering $3M and 90,000 hours saved annually
