Managing MRO inventory across a distributed fleet presents significant challenges, including inconsistent Min/Max settings, increasing dead stock, and stocking decisions driven largely by emotion rather than data. This session explores how Transocean, operating 27 offshore drilling units across eight countries, leveraged its EAM system alongside an AI-powered inventory platform to implement criticality-based stocking strategies, demand forecasting, and automated inventory redistribution without requiring extensive data cleansing. Results include six consecutive months of inventory reduction, a first in more than two years, a 75% reduction in quarter-over-quarter inventory growth, and execution of 55% of identified Min/Max optimization opportunities.
