In the offshore sector, there has been much talk surrounding the challenges and opportunities presented by digitalisation in the so-called “fourth industrial revolution” – Industry 4.0.

Despite the increased attention, little headway has been made in enabling operators to capitalise on the benefits. Until now. Industry 4.0, meet Topsides 4.0.

Topsides 4.0 is a digital lifecycle approach to rotating equipment and electrical and automation systems, underpinned by secure communications. It is designed to enable digital project management and manufacturing, virtual testing and commissioning, and delivery of an intelligent "digital twin" of a topsides facility, which can be used by operators for decision-making support and asset optimisation.

This webinar, hosted by Oil & Gas IQ and Siemens, will provide a deep dive into the foundation of Topsides 4.0 as a new business approach and a working case study of how it was applied by Aker BP to on the Ivar Aasen platform in the North Sea.

In this webinar you will see:

  • The digital twins concept in an offshore context
  • Concrete examples of how Topsides 4.0 can shorten project development cycles
  • Tangible statistics that show how this system can help reduce CAPEX and OPEX
