Swee-Teng Chin

Swee-Teng Chin, a Senior Data Scientist in the Chemometrics, AI, and Statistics group at Dow's Technical Expertise Support organization, has 17 years of experience with the company. As the Technical Leader of the group, Swee-Teng helps to manage project resource allocation, hiring decisions, and shaping analytics strategy. She co-leads innovation programs to address analytics needs in Manufacturing & Engineering (M&E), which include GenAI initiatives. Swee-Teng addresses plant issues and quality problems by integrating chemistry and engineering knowledge with statistical and analytics methodologies. She mentors data scientists and leads statistics and data science training seminars to enhance analytics skills at Dow. Swee-Teng is part of the Women Innovation Network (WIN) steering team, which aims to attract, retain, develop, and advance women in Texas Operation.

Swee-Teng received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering, M.S. in Statistics, and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University. She has contributed to over 15 externally referred papers, delivered over 35 conference presentations, received 2 patents, and multiple Dow technology center awards.
