INSPECTION AND MONITORING SYSTEMS TO ACCURATELY INTEGRATE CORROSION AND INSPECTION MANAGEMENT
9:00 am - 10:00 am Evaluating operating parameter changes and heat exchanger failure to avoid risk
- Address the requirement of consideration of operating parameter changes during design phase
- Learn about the importance of change in operating parameters to the inspection engineer
- Hear about the requirement of periodic monitoring of operating parameters after every start up solutions for environmental and stress elements
10:00 am - 10:30 am Risk Based Inspection (RBI) to extend the asset life-cycle
- Understanding how RBI is an accessible tools at a time of lower oil prices and ever changing harsh environments
- Analysing the advantages and benefits of adopting to RBI to avoid cracks and leaks cause due to corrosion and conditions
- Assessing technologies that operators have chosen to reduce inspection expenditure while effectively carrying out inspection on assets in current low price environments
10:30 am - 11:00 am Research Findings on Corrosion Inhibition Techniques applied on pipelines and equipment in extreme conditions
- Analysing current challenges in Oman in terms of corrosion protection with a special focus on corrosion inhibitors (chemicals)
- Discussing the process variables involved in the corrosion reaction during in-situ corrosion inhibitions
- Evaluating the effect and compatibility of chemical inhibitors through measuring the corrosion rate and therefore the benefits obtained in the above research study
11:00 am - 11:30 am Refreshment and networking break
11:30 am - 12:00 pm Opportunities to maximize value from Risk Based Inspection assessment
- Integrity Operating Window definition and management
- Non intrusive inspection – why, when and how
ADVANCEMENTS IN REMOTE INSPECTION AND MONITORING FOR ACCURATE INFORMATION GATHERING TO FORMULATE MITIGATION STRATEGIES
12:00 pm - 12:30 pm A Study on Corrosion Safety Aspects and Risk Assessment Techniques
- Understanding the importance of Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) for corrosive environments
- Assessing the risk of pipeline accidents and control measures
- Hearing and learning from past incidences – Case Studies

INTERACTIVE GROUP DISCUSSIONS
12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
The following session will feature a series of interactive group discussions set in a roundtable format. During this session each group leader will introduce a concept/case study to the participants followed by an interactive discussion and live feedback.
Why participate?
Interactive group discussions are an excellent opportunity to get straight to the point and ask the questions that you want to know the answers to. The group format also facilitates an excellent opportunity for networking between industry professionals
Roundtable One
12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Advanced NDT solutions and remote inspectionAwareness of new types of NDT solutions available for accurate and safe inspections. Discuss how remote inspections have paved the way for safer, non-destructive testing. Discuss the potential of shifting from classic NDT approaches to a more comprehensive inspection strategy, combining classic and modern inspection practices including drones and ROAVs.
Roundtable Two
12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Learning from past incidents and failuresAddress the importance of learning through incidents and inspection related failures to grow and move forward in more efficient and accurate inspection performance. Discuss experiences in inspection and share each others failures and incidents to discuss common best practices in moving forward.
Roundtable Three
12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Detecting and inspecting Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI)Discuss the importance of focusing heavily on the classic and most common corrosion, every operator faces, i.e. Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI). Emphasise on how inspections for CUI and effective interpretation can lead to reduced risks and chances of incidents or failures and can substantially reduce maintenance costs in maintaining assets under insulation and in deep waters.
1:30 pm - 2:30 pm Networking lunch break
2:30 pm - 2:30 pm End of conference day two
