I guess this is more of a statement but: I currently reside in Eastern Ontario and the job market for me has gone flat. I have decided to relocate to Alberta for work. I have 25 years experience in multi-discipline design, engineering, construction and project management. I have applied to many jobs in Alberta in the Oil and Gas industry and have had negative responses, probably because I have no Oil and Gas experience. If there is going to be such a shortage of skilled professionals within 5 years, why wouldn't I be given an opportunity to learn about Oil and Gas before the shortage occurs. I am 48 yrs old and have a good 20 years left in my career. It just doesn't make sense to me. Any help would be appreciated.
