At TNO Netherlands (www.tno.nl) we have developed a corrosion mapping technology for permanent monitoring the wall thickness of pipe lines. The system consist out of 2 small rings placed on several meters distance. In between a 100% wall thickness map is measured also identifying and sizing local corrosion spot. It can replace expensive inspections and provide inline data allowing for Condition Based Maintenance.
