Brian Songhurst, director of LNG Energy and Power, discusses Floating Liquid Natural Gas (FLNG) and the technological advances being sought to improve the transferring of energy. Among the solutions Songhurst highlights are off-loading Liquefied Natural Gas via aerial hoses from a floating liquefaction vessel to a shuttle tanker in tandem as opposed to side-by-side.
He also shares his understanding of current gas prices as an inhibitor of the Floating Liquefaction project and how a more "robust" gas price would push such a project forward. Songhurst also discusses his involvement in the upcoming Global Floating LNG Summit as well as the advantages of a gathering where people within the industry can share views, best practices and solutions.
