M2M Technology Forum

IQPC will be organising the M2M Technology Forum from 18-19 June 2013 at the Le Royal Meridien in Abu Dhabi, UAE. For the very first time in the GCC, the conference will address the important concept of communication between devices, machines, and bringing energy fields closer to each other.

SCADA, telemetry and M2M solutions can be found throughout the oil and gas value chain including applications such as drilling and well monitoring, fiscal metering, and pipeline monitoring. Wireless technologies such as private radio, cellular and satellite communication can provide ubiquitous online connectivity and availability at reasonable costs and deliver high performance. All of these components combined enable the delivery of operations management, equipment management and regulatory compliance applications linking remote equipment and enterprise IT systems.

 Mohamed Akoum

Mohamed Akoum, Vice President of the IT Division from ADCO will deliver the keynote opening speech for this meeting of key experts. He has successfully implemented IT transformation, business alignment and business enablement strategies. Owing to his efforts, IT is now realised as a credible business partner and reliable solution provider capable of driving the business towards achieving its corporate objectives.

The conference will see a participation of selected experts from various companies and associations including ADMA-OPCO, ViaSat Inc, Inmarsat, Emerson, Gazprom, Fiber Optic Association, Crescent Petroleum, Aggreko International, Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association and many more.

"Attendance at the summit will allow face-to-face interaction with technology leaders and solution providers to better understand and optimise communication expenditure for remote assets. Furthermore, the sessions will allow participants to keep in touch with the evolution of satellite technology and cyber security value adds available in the market today," says Roy Drakos, Director of International Business Development of Global Satcom at ViaSat Inc in the United States.

The conference will also have workshops being conducted by the Device Management Forum group from the United Kingdom as well as the Fiber Optic Association from the United States. Looking at the current trends in technology, oil and gas companies have now started to apply M2M technology for controlling their massive oil and gas infrastructures at just a touch of a button.
